Their blog says:

BIGLTM stands for BIsexual, Gay, Lesbian and Transgender Mountaineers. You can say “Bi-g.l.t.m” or “Big-ul-tum.” If you’re a mountaineer and part of the lgbt community, an ally interested in equal rights for the glbt community, or just a member of the Morgantown, WV glbt community, then we are here for you.

Is it ok to just go to something like this? what should I expect? I’m gay, but I’ve only ever met a handful of other gay people (over the course of one week). Something like this would be completely illegal where I grew up and I have no idea what to expect…
