Affiliate Marketing is not for everyone.  Building an affiliate marketing business requires a lot of hard work and time.  You have to be able to put in 100% of your effort on a daily basis knowing it may take months to see results.  There is a process that successful affiliates follow.  They implement this process until the product is profitable then they duplicate this process with another product.  Below are 6 key steps to building a affiliate marketing business.

1.  Learn the business and be willing to make quick adjustments as things change rapidly in this business. Take the time to learn the proper way to build the business. Investing in a good affiliate marketing training program will serve you well.  There are a lot of good programs on the market but also a lot of bad ones.  Do your homework.  When starting out, you should choose an affiliate marketing training program that offers step by step instruction for every step of the process. Joining a forum dedicated to affiliate marketing is also a good idea.

2.  Find a product or service that you are interested in promoting and do market research to determine if there is a market for the product.  If there is, decide how you will market the product and how much the marketing will cost you.  If the commission is high enough that you will still make a profit move forward. If you have experience in a particular industry you can try to find a product in that niche.   Having knowledge of the industry will make it easier for you to market a product.

3.  Set up an individual website for each product you promote. It is important not to promote a variety of products from the same website.  Specializing in one niche makes you appear to be knowledgeable in the field.  It is also a good idea to provide an opt-in form for list building purposes. If you offer something of value such as a free report or newsletter subscription, you will have more people join your list.

4.  Aggressively market your product. The more visitors you get to your site the better chance you have of selling products.  Tracking your results will give you the information you need to adjust your campaigns for maximum profitability.

5.  Market additional niche related products to your subscriber list.  Offer subscribers something related to the niche that may interest them. Be sure to mix up your offers with free valuable information they can use. If you only send them sales material they will unsubscribe from your list.

6.  Once you have your site running smoothly and it is profitable, it is time to duplicate your success with another product or niche.  Your income will begin to skyrocket if you keep doing this. Imagine having 10 sites or more each making $500 a month.  Duplication is key.

Building a profitable affiliate business requires mastering these 6 steps.  All of these steps and more will be covered in detail in a good affiliate marketing training program.  If you put in the time, effort and energy necessary to build a successful business, you will succeed in affiliate marketing.
